6th
Grade

Students
will be able to read whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes and rests in
2/4, 3/4, 4/4 and 6/8time.

Students
will be able to identify all the treble clef notes, including leger lines
&
Students
will be able to recognize and define the musical words for duration
(length of a sound or silence), dynamics (loud or soft), and tempo
(speed).

Students
will write a short piece in ABA form and print it using “Finale
Notepad.”

Play a
variety of different instruments with appropriate technique
&
Perform
music representing different genres and cultures on classroom instruments

Students
will listen to, analyze, and describe, a variety of musical examples using
